Stock Back Order Facility
 

Hi Folks

I'm pretty new to Xcart and very naive in the ways of technology such as this.
This may be a straight forward answer or it may be more complicated I'm not sure.

I'm wondering if there is any way to have a system where by the cart says if stocks are good, low or you have to back order.

The reason is that there are many sizes and colours of my products. I wont hold them all but can order quickly from suppliers. I want there to be information where by it says in stock now, order now for 1 week delievry etc.

A similar system can be found on the below website using their colour coded In Stock/Low Stock/Pre Order system

not easily built in, bcse have a pre/back order mod you can use, I think it's very popular.

Alternatively you can do something like set your stock levels artificially high, for example an extra 20, the exact number doesn't matter. Then set your low limit to that number, in this case 20, so now when you get down to zero actual stock you'll get an email reminder, even though xcart thinks you've got 20 in stock. It will continue to let people order the item.

Then modify your template so if the stock level is below the low limit level, it displays "order now for 1 week delivery" etc
