x-special offers AND AC On Sale?
 

I've got the AC on sale mod, but I've seen in another post that x-special offers can offer membership as the offer. This would be very handy to automatically change memberships when customers purchase certain items,

does anyone know if I can have both of these running at the same time?

I have a similar question. I have Special Offers, but, as others have stated, it's not the greatest. I do like the reward points and reward memberships feature, though, and I don't want to spend more money on another reward points program.

However, since having sales is difficult with Special Offers, I would like to add OnSale by AlteredCart. So I'm wondering how the two work together. For instance, where does OnSale place it's various components (e.g., promo text) in the customer area? How will promo texts for SO and OnSale work together?

amy2203, SO is a bit funky about the reward memberships. The customer needs to have the required number of points when placing an order. Then the membership is offered upon order completion. Otherwise, you have to manually add the membership when the customer reaches the points value. So if you want to give the membership at 100 points, the customer must have 100 points or more and then place an order before the membership offer happens without your intervention. Yeah, it's pretty stupid.:roll:

I have both installed and they work fine. I do my sales via the onsale mod and memberships via special offers. Im actually looking at the moment to see if i can mod the special offers addon so that memberships can be authorised at processed rather than completed order stage.

Thanks, philrisk. Do you display promo text for your Special Offers memberships? My main concern is regarding appearance - how each mod will display its promo and detailed text in the customer area.

I was thinking about changing the trigger from Completed to Processed as well, but I decided to leave it as is. What I would like to do, though, is incorporate a math equation to add the customer's current points with the cart points to determine eligibility for membership.

I only display the special offer title and no promo text for special offers. I mainly use it to offer membership to a collectors club when a certain piece is bought. I am just playing with a different method so that I can ignore the special offers mod and as soon as a customer purchases a certain product they automatically get their membership upgraded.

So you mean you fill in the Short Promo but not the Long Promo? That's actually what I'm wondering about. I currently have just SO and 3 offers in place. So there are 3 short promos displaying at the top of all main store pages. I'm wondering how OnSale will fit in with that. Are you saying OnSale doesn't display promos like SO does?
