adding simple cart to header
 

Hi All,

I'm scratching my head over this as I thought it would be pretty simple. I just want only the mini cart in the header to have a minimal look for a website.

I have edited customer/head.tpl and tried adding in the below,

yet it refuses to appear.

Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong?

it's pretty much impossible to say with so little information, and absolutely no idea what your skin is, try providing more details, or even better a link so people can have a look.

Hi Amy,

Thanks for the support, unfortunately my site is hosted on a VM at the moment so it is not publicly available.

I'm running with the standard skin installed (Light & Lucid 3 columns) and would like the cart to look something kind of like (http://www.ergofurniture.com.au/) as it is in the upper right hand side of the header.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is possible of course. You may be adding the wrong file or editing wrong contents

This is true, however I'm simply moving the minicart file up into the head.tpl which I assume would allow it.

However if this is wrong I'm happy to be pointed in the right direction?

OK I have fixed the issue.

I have moved it up into line 1 of the header and floated it right.

Could you please explain how you did it, e.g., which template you edited and which attributes? Did you have to modify the skin css? I am trying to do the same thing, obviously, and would like to know how you made it work, if you wouldn't mind sharing.
