template header
I'm just building a new site using 4.4 and I'm completely lost with the new file structure. I cannot find the simplest of things.
I am trying to make the height of the header area bigger so that I can fit the size logo in it that I want. Currently only 1/2 of the logo is visible. I have tried several changes to the css and to template files but with no luck. Does anyone know where this bit is? Thank you |
Re: template header
Have you tried using the Firebug plugin for Firefox?

Re: template header
Hi,
I don't know what that is |
Re: template header
It will become your best friend for editing x-cart css files. http://getfirebug.com/

Re: template header
Thanks - I will give it a go

Re: template header
Also use Webmaster Mode, it will tell you exactly which template is which.

Re: template header
Also make sure you edit css and template files specific to the skin you are using. There is "common files" directory and directories for each skin so some files you have to edit in "common files" and some - in their respective directory

Re: template header
Thanks Steve, I'll have another dig through.
Hi Balinor: It may be just me but the webmaster mode doesn't appear to work the same as in previous versions. From what I remember as you hovered up and down the file list the area on the page was highlighted so you could tell which area it was for - but with this version it doesn't seem to do that. It does give me a list of templates that are linked and I have worked my way through them but I just seem to end up distorting areas beneath the header. A bit more digging is needed I think. |
Re: template header
May be a bug in 4.4, that is essentially a beta release still.

Re: template header
I losing the will to live now.
I've changed every template & css related to the layout in both common files and skin template - nothing is changing. When someone finds the solution to this simple change - please let me know. In the mean time I will keep all sharp implements away in case I do lose the will. |
