X-Cart Pro: Grouping invoices
 

Hi,
We have a strange one. Our client has a business in which he has several departments each operating on behalf of a different vendor. Because of this x-cart pro (4.3) works very well as each dept logs in as the vendor they represent.

However, we need the customer to be only provided with one invoice - not split up into separate invoices per vendor. Is this possible easily?

I checked with Qualiteam about this some time back and they quoted me a price... close to $300 if I remember right. Made me mad because I KNEW they had already done it for a similar site and just wanted more money, but whatever. I WISH it would just become an option in the new versions of x-cart... it's at the top of my list.

Good luck on your search. It's possible to contact one of the wonderful companies here (BCSE; WebsiteCM; MercuryMinds; etc.) to see if they can do it cheaper. I KNOW there is big money in this kind of a mod.

I'm going to have to look at doing it myself. We have a few major hacks with this site that I'm working through and wondered if someone could offer a pointer.
I'm hoping it's going to be something as simple as adding an additional field to the orders table and using that as a grouping-id for anything in the current checkout session, but so far nothing in x-cart has been that simple. I'll get back to you if I succeed!
