Dreamweaver and Static Pages
Hi,
I'm new to designing pages. I designed a web page in Dreamweaver CS3 - 3 columns. When I paste the code in a new static page and click WYSIWYG, I see the web page like it is in Dreamweaver - 3 columns. If I go back to the Default editor and click WYSIWY again, or view the page on my website, the 3 columns disappear and everything appears in the full page. Even if I use the Lorem Ipsum default in Dreamweaver and change nothing, the same thing happens. I thought Dreamweaver and Static Pages were compatible because they both use HTML. Apparently I'm doing something very wrong. Yes, you guessed it, I know essentially nothing about web code. Can anyone give me some pointers sp I can learn what to do beyond WYSIWYG? Many thanks. Melvyn P. Heyes. |
Re: Dreamweaver and Static Pages
Hi Melvyn, afraid it doesn't really work that way. You would only copy the code between the <body> tags into the static page, but not in the WYSIWYG, in the code view part.
So design your layout in DW, view the code, copy the code from between the <body> tags, and paste it into the non-wysiwyg part of the static page editor. |
Re: Dreamweaver and Static Pages
Many thanks - again - for your help. I'll work on it.
