Removing Add to Cart, Buy Now for One Category

Hello,

I wanted to make one category where I can just put information or profiles on products. So I don't need options like buy now, add to cart, stocks and all that shopping cart functionality for that category.

Is there a way to don't show this?

Easiest way may be to generate html and create a static page.

that's the first thing I though of but, than I will have to put up with other header and side columns and all that by html, which may not show resolution good in some monitors,

the way I want is like on the 3 column layout, I want it to be shown in middle part.

Strange, why do want Xcart for this then ?

.

I sell Movie DVDs. I want to make a actors profiles just their biography, wherease i can put available movies of that actor in upselling movies.

you can see that here

It may not look too good to show prices and all that stuff in information page, if I add static page than I will have to enter manually all stuff including upselling products.

Ohhhhh, I see what you mean now, absolutely right, thats could be nice, you could have an integrated CMS-Shopping cart.

Maybe an option could be to tell the xcart developers to add a page validator when you are creating an item (an item could be a sellable or an article for example), this way the validator could specify if it is for sell or not (merely informational).

embedded page is not a bad option but than it will not search that product name and than lot of html will take long time to add this kind of content.

Yeah, probably because it gets a bit heavy for parsing.
