Make Detailed Description (Add Product) mandatory
 

Currently Short Description must be filled in, but if I do not fill in the Detailed Description, the Product is still created even though there is an asterisk there implying "must fill this in".

I poked around the files using Webmaster mode :roll:, but decided to post a question instead.

When I had v4.1.12 I am sure that it didn't have the asterisk there but now it is there in v4.3.1. I am sure that you don't have to use that field. I have products not using it.

The asterisk is referring to below

* Note: If no HTML tags are detected in the product description text on form submit, this text will be treated as plain text and converted to HTML before saving, so any newline characters used in this text will be replaced by the <br /> tag to ensure that line breaks are displayed correctly.

I do want to use this field. It is the description used on the page after you click on the link "See details", as in Detailed description. This next page also has "send to friend", "recommended products", etc, and I have a product enquiry form as well (mod).

So I need this field to be mandatory #-o

Keely have you gone into general settings and then product options and tick the first option that should force it.

Hi,

Thanks for reply - however first option there for me is:
" Redirect a customer who clicks the "Buy Now" or "Add to wish list" buttons of a product with product options to product details page"

Can't see what that has to with making the detailed description mandatory
