Drop Down vs Listing of Sub Categories
 

We have six main categories and nearly 20 sub categories. This number is too much for the Left Hand Margin. We would like to place the sub categories into a drop down box attached to a primary category. We've searched for the steps or code along with where the code would be placed without success. Could someone direct me to where to look for the steps or code along with the proper template to edit.

If you want to do this yourself, I'm not quite sure. Haven't looked at the template files.
