add a new text box to contact us
 

Hi there,
does anyone know how to add a extra box to the contact us form (non required), what im wanting to do is add another box called order number so that if the enquiry is about their order they have somewhere to input the number, I know how to add it to the template but not where the functions are for sending off the email containing the extra information.

using x-cart 3.3.3

any help would be appreciated.

First edit skin1/help/contactus.tpl, add a new input field for the order id.

Then edit skin1/mail/help_contactus.tpl to modify the email sent to reflect the new field.

When I modify the: /help/contactus.tpl
 

I remove some of the un needed fields. Then when I test it, it wont show the "Your message was successfully sent to our support team. We will reply to you shortly." after I submit.

Is there another file I am supposed to edit?

Instead of removing them the best thing to do is change the fields to hidden fields.
