Products - some are available to purchase, some with 'contact us' note instead
 

Hi all

We have a situation where we would like to display all products but only some of them are available to purchase online - others we would like the user to contact us for a quote.

I have read various posts that say about setting the Product price to 0(zero) and modifing the template to say 'if product price is zero hide the Cart/Wishlist buttons etc and replace them with a piece of text saying 'Contact us for a quote'.

However, while I understand the theory - the practical side is another thing all together :lol:

Would anyone be able to advise which files to edit, what to add/comment out for my version of Xcart?

I have a little mod "Additional Product Status for X-Cart "
that might help you with this.

This would allow you to set a different status in admin for each product you want to be "contact us" only. It then details how you can edit the products and product templates to hide/show what information you need to display.
