Adding a facebook logo/ hyperlink to the homepage
 

Hi,

Does anyone know in which part of the plesk-directory I have to add the facebook logo for it to show up on my homepage. I tried all kinds of combinations, but nothing seems to work

My homepage is located in
http://www.allterrainmedical.com/httpdocs/index

Don't know if that helps...

I thought the pictures then need to be located in ...httpdocs/images...?
Does not seem to help.

I know that it's popular to link to your page on Facebook. But I can't figure out why anybody would want to link from their own store to Facebook... a most engaging and addictive site.

I try to use Facebook to bring people to my site, not vice versa.

I disagree: If you have an ecommerce website, people found you because they searched for and want to buy the product you have, not to chat and socialize.

So, I have no problem to guide customers with a click of a button to OUR facebook page, where they can see our latest product specials, can register, become a fan of us, where the page is full of links back to our website (at least this is the plan, we are working on);-)

Plus, it helps your rankings to have those on your homepage.

Actually, you can link facebook to twitter and only have to post once...
I like twitter better, it is not so confusing as I think facebook it.

Just uploading an image to the image directory won't make it show up on your site. You have to insert reference to it in your home.tpl and it will show up on all pages. like this

Which HOME.TPL? I know I sound ignorant because I am. I would LOVE to have a book-manual that explained what all the pages are and which files I need to open to alter the look of the website. Does that exist?

I searched for HOME.TPL and there are lots of them....

skin1/customer/home.tpl
If you need to modify layout for customer side of the store templates are in skin1/customer.
This can help you - http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=21529. There is one for 4.2 but I can't find it right now. The difference is in 4.2 customer templates are in skin1/customer
