Centre website - IE not displaying. *Updated*
Hi All,
I've been a lurker for a little bit, just soaking up all of the information available on here! Thanks so much! However, there's an issue that I can't find the solution to and wondered if you might be able to help me. I wish to centre my website and give it a fixed width. I have defined the width as 966px, which has worked fine. I have also centred the website, as follows: html, body { height: 100%;#page-container { min-height: 100%;This has worked fine for Firefox 3.5 and all is looking good, but only on the customer/shop side. The admin section has not moved. Also, in IE 8, the website and admin section are still aligned left! I can't find anything that points to the alignment of the whole site, other than the page container, and unfortunately a search on here didn't come up with much. Any tips are much appreciated! Many thanks, JeanB |
Re: Centre website - IE 8 not displaying.
Ah, nevermind - I've sorted it.
I read that a couple of people had a similar issue, so they restored the original main.css file. I did this and edited the CSS back to this and it's working...? |
Re: Centre website - IE 8 not displaying.
I have the same problem. I've made so many modifications to main.css, should I start again? 8O

I hope not! I wonder if someone might be able to shed some light on this?
I'd hate to think that I, or anyone else, would do a great deal of work, for it to happen again? I think I'll keep a back-up of the css, just incase! 8O |

Re: Centre website - IE 8 not displaying.
Ok - So the IE8 issue is a bit of a pain, but it is sorted with a restore of the original file.
However - I've just been shown the site in IE6 and it's even worse...! In IE6, the site does not display the header, it does not display the seachbar/speedbar. It is also aligned left. I also have a drop-shadow around the entire site - but the side shadow isn't appearing. Does anybody know what might cause this, but more importantly, where I might change it? I realise that IE 6 is a bit out-of-date, but there are still alot of people using it, so I would like the site to work there. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, JeanB |
