Change Quantity and update price

Hi there,

I am sure I have seen this particularly requirement before on previous versions of xcart.. so assume it is simple to do.

I need to make it so on the product details page, when the quantity is changed, the price displayed on the page is updated (either automatically or via an update button) so if the item costs $50 each, and the quantity is set to 10, is shows the cost to be $500.

Any ideas on how I can do this, I tried to copy and paste the code from the "cart.php" page which has this on it, but it didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Vince

The problem is, if you change the price according to how many of a product a customer purchases ( 1=$50,10=$500) then when the customer goes to their shopping cart they will see 10 items ordered at $500 each for a total of $5000. Are you sure this is what oyu want to do?

Hi Jwait,

Thanks for your email.

But how about if it only shows the price changing, but doesn't store the saved price when it goes through to the cart.

There must be some way of doing this.

how else can someone know the cost of a certain quantity on the product detail page.

Regards,

vince

I don't understand why you would want to do this? If the product is $50 regardless of how many a customer buys there is no reason to change anything. If you had the option of a customer buying 10 and getting a discount, then that is something else entirely. and you can do that through the product options section.

You also have the option of having the customer adding something to their cart and remaining on the same page they are on, or being sent to the cart when they add a product where it shows the total for the items they added.
