alteredCart On Sale - Will it play nicely with Special Offers?
 

Hey there,

We purchased On Sale yesterday but have not installed it yet. We had a concern that it would interfere with our current "promos" which were setup using the Special Offers module.

Sure, once On Sale is installed we can simply re-create the offers in On Sale... but we're concerned about the time it will take us to do so once the install finishes. Especially if On Sale does in fact override Special Offers.. that will obviously affect any sales in progress at the time of the install.

Anyone have any insight to this? Thanks in advance.

We disabled Special Offers when we installed On Sale so I can't answer your question directly, but it does work along side other x-cart features like the regular coupons, so maybe it would work alongside Special Offers? If you decide to recreate the sales just be sure to test them thoroughly as I've found that On Sale does some funny things sometimes. It works well but takes some getting used to in terms of setting the sales up properly.

The two modules are completely separate, and can be used at the same time on the same store.

sweet, thanks bill. i am pretty sure once we get around to installing on sale, we will no longer use the special offer module (but who knows for sure).

i do have a question for you though, we purchased on sale without installation. things have pretty hectic at the office since the purchase... is it possible to purchase the install if we decide we cant get to it?

nice. thanks bill. we'll keep that in mind. i'm a bit confused as to the price in the link you posted. i see a $50 price up front, but when i choose on sale the drop down has a price of $69. which is correct?

i will say though, even though the install instructions were a bit lengthy, they looked to be very well laid out.

looking forward to seeing this mod in action.
