Home page left+right bar - Fixed
 

Hi,

I have somehow managed to delete the contents of the left and right bars on the homepage only. So no category menu, login etc.

Could someone point me in the direction of which file I need to look at please, or any idea how to correct it.

Typically we are off for the weekend on a painfully slow mobile connection, so a bit stuck.

Really appreciate any pointers:-)

So they show up on the other pages like categories, product details?

Yes, it is fine if you enter via a featured product, or speed bar:?

I restored the home.tpl, and although all the formatting is wrong, the categories are there.

Have replaced with the origional home.tpl, with no success.

The last thing I did was change the welcome text in webmastermode, althoug I dont see how this could have happened.

Check your site under FF with Firebug. There is something wrong with css or you have not closed some tag. The left and right columns are there but way off screen not visible

Hes right.
On your site, if I remove the "Margin-left:50%" tag in the div ID "Left-column" it appear near the bottom of the page. Thats for the left side.

On the right side, div ID "right-column" changing the float from "left" to "right makes it appear on the right side (albeit in the item list).


I assume this site was made in IE?

Going rapidly over my head now:lol:

Site was working fine under ie & ff until I must have messed something today editing the welcome text.

Steve, I have compared the origional home to the current, and it is exactly the same with no closing div:?

It is a 7dana skin

Thankyou everyone for your help, it is now fixed:D

I dropped Goran at 7Dana an email on the off chance this morning. He very kindly checked the site, and emailed me the fix. Huge thanks again to him!!

After all that, it was an unclosed span tag on the welcome text which I obviously botched - no idea why I didn't think of just deleting it as it was the only bit that I touched:oops:

What a numpty:lol:
