Product Option Variant Images...

I was told that 4.2 supports product option images...

i.e. if I choose blue shirt, the blue replaces the white one or something similar

however I can't find anything relating to adding images with my options?

Any help appreciated or is this a custom mod?

Options or variants? There is a difference. You can have different image on variants but not on options

TY
I may have misunderstood... where are the variant variables located?

Re: Product Option Variant Images...

After you add options (for a product) - then "variants" will appear in the edit product menu... you can click on that and add variant images there...
i.e. you add product option first e.g. option 1 = "Colour" with choices "blue", "green" and option 2 = "Size" with choices "S", "M", "L" (do this first)
Then "Variants" will appear and under that will be
Variant 1 blue S
Variant 2 blue M
Variant 3 blue L
Variant 4 green S
Variant 5 green M
Variant 6 green L
You can then add a different photo for each variant.

TY Asia

Okay so 2 things I noticed..

1. Variants don't resize
2. You cant change the price on a variant (i.e. If the logo I show is a monkey and the monkey variant cost $2 more.. it wont adjust)?

I'm hoping im wrong and just a new on both counts ;)

Re: Product Option Variant Images...

Hi,

1) not sure (don't use it) - perhaps yes, you need to add a photo is correct size (check X-Cart Admin -> General settings to see if there is a place to set the size of images for variants)...
2) Yes - you can change the price... it is based on the choice of which type of option you use i.e. use "Option Type" = "price modifier" you can then set a option to be either X% or $X more expensive than base... e.g. if S (Small) is base price you could do...
Small
Medium+2
Large+3
(Note: this means if small size is 2.99, medium will be 4.99 and large 5.99).
See the X-Cart manual to understand more - http://www.x-cart.com/xcart_manual/online/product_options2.htm?zoom_highlightsub=product+opt ions

Re: Product Option Variant Images...

If you need to add images do not use "price modifier" use "price variant". Then for each variant you can add actual price and an image. The image will not resize, you will have to add the actual image you want to show.
So if your product images are 200px/200px and price for green is $12.99 and for red is $13.99 it will look like this:

Variant option - Color
-----------------------------
Green - 200px/200px $12.99
Red - 200px/200px $13.99
.........

Thanks Steve - I don't use this feature anymore actually and it seems that how it works has been updated since I used to years ago - appreciate you picking that up for me :)
