Multiple Skins
I am a bit of a X-Cart dummy so bare with me on this question. I would like to have two different stores that use the same cart, database and configuration information but I want them to have to different skins. Basically if you come in through one URL, it would take you to one skin but you enter through another URL... you get the other skin.
Oh...and did I mention that I want the client to be able to add products to their cart and switch between the stores....is it possible? Thanks for the help! MW |

So how would I go about the first part?
|
http://www.Cartlab.net have a mod for that called skin swap
|
New version is actually going up today, that doesn't require Installation, I've still got to write up the readme file but the script is ready and very easy to use.
Some new features: - Admin configurable - Enable/Disable skinswapping - Swap by custom variable or Store Lanague or Affiliate partner ID. - Default skin to choose if none is specified (Fallback method) - Easily switch between debug_templates.tpl and debug.tpl while Debug Console is enabled. - Skin repository directory to hold all skins that are swapable. Crap I want it... I'll probably buy it but I need to have lots of skins first..
BOOMER, is it possible for the customer to choose the skin that they see? Also with V3.5 due any moment will upgrade be free ;-) |
John,
It is possible to allow the user to set the skin, you can easily make mod_skinswap configured to use any variable you want, then just make a drop down on the customer side that sets that variable to the skin directory to swap into. 3.5.0 upgrade should be in your filearea once its out. |
hehe I don't mean the X-cart 3.5 ... I mean will this mod support X-cart 3.5 and if not will the mod upgrade be free ;-)
