multilingual extra fields? URGENT
 

Hi all,

I try to figure out, if it's possible, how to add additionnal descriptions fields for my products which I would translate.
I tried to add Extra Fields, but it looks like I can't translate them... Am I right?

Hi efournier,

x-cart's extra fields are Multilingual but their Values are Not Multilingual as they're supposed to be, which is really disappointing.

I posted this issue to QT and their reply was:

We can offer you the following modifications:

ADMIN @ Product Modify:

The fields, for typing extra fields' values (for a product) will be moved from "Product details" screen to the "International descriptions" sub-section of Product Modify.

Here, the admin will be able to define extra fields' values in different languages.

CUSTOMER @ Product Details:

Extra fields (both fields' Names and Values) will be shown to customers in the selected language (or in the default language, if no Values defined for selected by customer language).

Implementation of these modifications will cost $198. Please take in account that the service you are considering to order will be implemented exactly on 4.2.0 version of X-Cart Gold. Re-implementation of these modifications on other versions may require a separate quotation.

In other words, they pretty much told me to pay $200 for implementation of a modification (which should be there by default btw.) that "may require a separate quotation" in an x-cart version other than 4.2.0. In other words I'll have to pay and pay again for them to re-mod this with every update.

Isn't that hilarious? =D>

Has anybody else solved this somehow?

Does not solve your problem, but could ease the pain a bit if you find others who are willing to share the development cost - see this thread
