Comodo goes offline AGAIN - trustlogo causes site slowdown
Hi everyone,
Do you remember last year when Comodo had problems with their Trustlogo site and it caused slowdowns for users as it has to call back to comodo to get the certificate information? Well it's happened again!! https://secure.comodo.net/ The site no longer responds. As such, anyone with a trustlogo on their site will experience increased slowdowns for their site. The entire "http://www.comodo.com" site is acutally offline at this time. We've posted notes to our customers on our sites, but I figured we'd put something here for X-Cart users who are not hosting with us. Moderators, maybe you can move this to the News & Announcements section? |

Re: Comodo goes offline AGAIN - trustlogo causes site slowdown
Comodo called us yesterday trying to get us to switch from Verisign. Last years down time and the way Comodo handled it was a big no for me. You wouldn't beleive the line of BS the sales rep tried when I mentioned this.
Thanks but no thanks, I will pay more and stick with Verisign. |

Yeah they tried with us last year but I explained to them that we prefer having the insurance coverage of $250,000 with VeriSign and hung up :P |
Re: Comodo goes offline AGAIN - trustlogo causes site slowdown
Sigh...
When will people wake up and see that this "trust logo" and "Hacker Safe" etc... logos are useless and a scam? 4 years ago, after subscribing to such service, I think it was the "Hacker Safe" program, I was commissioned to do an extensive study done on this feature and the results were staggering. Not only are they useless, but they are also DANGEROUS. I am bound by confidentiality agreements but if anybody wants me to discuss this matter in general terms I will be happy to share information, though I can't name names or give numerical details. Bottom line though is money spent on such "features" are near absolute waste. |
