Displaying "newest" items in welcome?
 

Hi all,

Is the following possible? I would like to have two columns on my welcome screen - one with the "featured products" (standard), and a similar column for the 5 "newest products".

In this layout example http://www.slik.org/basicbeat/shoptmp/xcart/customer/home.php I would like the rightmost column to display the 5 newest.

I have not found anything in the manual about such a function. Is there a known solution or a patch for this? If not, I will hack it in myself, but I would like to do it the "right" way with smarty templates and I'm not that experienced with them, so I'd rather not have to reinvent the weel :)

Oh - and yes, I know the images are broken. They are on a server that is not yet in DNS.

Yep - there is a patch for it already - there is some code on the forum (version 3.3x) - search for newest products or a downloadable package from my site for version 3.4.x with a few extra tweaks.
