Template changes don't show - have torn my hair out and am now bald!

I must be missing something fundamental here!

if I go to skin1/main/product.tpl

and I change the code to:

<span class="Text">{$product.descr}</span>hello

<br />

<br />

I should get a hello come up after the product description in the product details page - right?

Well nothing shows - at all.

I have run cleanup.php in case it was a cacheing problem. I have tried editing via FTP and using the editor in the adminsitrator. NO joy.

Please someone tell me the stupid thing I am misssing

Wrong template - you want skin1/customer/main/product.tpl

Use Webmaster Mode, it will save the rest of your hair :)
