it's possible? I've find a way in /modules/product_options/customer_options.tpl but in this way a field is hidden in front store and in administration..

I need to see the field in admin :-)

How could a customer order a product that has options when they can't select them?

No doubt there's another way to do this, but this 'option' is being used internally only - it's a confirmation code that we can only add when order is marked as complete. Hence not wanting (nor needing) the public to see this option/field.

But we need it, we need it to be stored with each and every completed order. It is subsequently used in voucher-production, extracting information from the xcart order tables.

I hope I've explained (on behalf of OP, one of our coders) clearly.

Oh, then you don't want product options, you want Extra Fields. Those can be checked to show/hide on the cusotmer side.

Thanks. Been there, tried that. We enter the confirmation code just before marking order as complete (using AOM). Extra fields don't show up there.

... but if they could be forced to show up there, and were editable (able to be modified), then that would work.
