Website looks wrong in IE 6?

Hello everybody. I have just designed my website and it looks the way I want it to look on Firefox V3. When I went to check it in Internet Explorer 6 the background color shifted? It is suppose to be all black Where can I fix this? I'm a newbie so the most information you can give me, the better. Here is the link. Please check it out Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox so you know what I'm talking about. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the nightmare that is IE. Most likely it is the notorious margin issue - margins appear differently in IE, particularly IE 6 than they do in other browsers. There is an IE6 specific stylesheet in 4.2 though, so find out what class is misbehaving on you and adjust accordingly in the stylesheet.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'm sorry, I do not know what class to change or to change it to?

Thanks for all your help.

A tool that I use often and that bailnor has suggested to me in the past is the firebug add-on to firefox. It is a great little tool that lets you select an element of your page and see what CSS it is referring to. If you use firefox it is big timesaver

I do have Firebug. I think Firebug is one of the best tools for web design. It has helped me so much. My question is what do I add to the CSS in the IE6 main.css file to make the black background cover everything? Ryan said that it is a margin issue? I am just starting to learn the basics of CSS so I do not know what to change. I really do appreciate everybodies help. I have learned some much from the members of this forum. Thank you.

I'm no expert by any means, so take my advise with a grain of salt.

You might check the to see if the left hand border set to be 780PX wide in the #page-container DIV

I wanted to add a tool I just found that sits on top of IE7 just like Firebug.. (Thank You) Balinor

http://www.debugbar.com/

Also need to add that if others make the mistake that I did.. Once you go wrong in the main.css style sheet it will render the IE specific cs files mute.

Like chasing my own tail..

I realize that I MUST go back and redo all my css and make sure that I'm not just fudging things
