chang width of product options box

The product options box width is causing my 3 column product display to require a left-right scroll bar. How can I change the box width to be no longer than the length of the box contents (longest product option)?

It should do that by default. Are you sure that is the problem? What happens if you disable the longest product option?

changing the text in the options box does reduce the box width. Thanks.
