Wierd layout frustration

I have customized this site in development and so far, everything had been looking great. However, when I get to the "cart.php" page, the layout skews.

You will notice in the two JPGS, that in 1.jpg, the content lines up pretty nicvely on the left under the "home" tab. In 2.JPG, which is the shopping cart, i.e. cart.php, there is a good deal more space on the left, and the page skews out to the right.

Now, there is nothing in my cart.tpl file that would seem to start this left alignment issue. All of the tabkes in that page are at 100%, and since home_mail is serving up both the home, the pages, and the cart.tpl, it seems that al three of those templates shoudl have the same left alignment.

Any thoughts on where I might be picking up extra pixels of indent on the left which is causing this? The problem on begins at the "add to cart" step andcontinued until checked out.

Thanks for any assistance or thoughts.

mcpilot:

If you are using Fast Lane Checkout, the layout is no longer based on your normal home.tpl, but rather, /skin1/modules/Fast_Lane_Checkout/home.tpl

AND it has its own css file too -- all located in /skin1/modules/Fast_Lane_Checkout/

This may be what is messing you up when you get to checkout.

Hope this helps.

Jeremy...

That was it! Disabling Fast Lane showed me taht the layout was proper. Now I just need to rework the CSS in FLC to re-activate it. Thanks much,

Pat

Ah... my pleasure. One of the hidden quirks of xcart.

BTW, if you get into this jam in the future, don't forget, webmaster mode is your friend... it will display all templates in-use on any page, and you can "easily" determine the insanity of the nested tables and templates.

I would also recommend the one page checkout from altered cart. If you want to maximize your checkout process it a must have.
