Adding a shadow border aroundmain template

Hi i have changed the background colour in Skin1.css style HTML, BODY but i now want to see a shadow around the edge of the main template bleaching into the new background colour.
Before i changed this style colour there was a edge shadow around the main template, however now that i have changed the background colour from white to a light grey the shadow has disapeared due to the colours being vertually the same, i have searched the site but all i find is how to changed the background colour can anybody point me in the right direction as to where i need to look and edit.

Cheers Tony

Have you tried searching skin1.css for the color of the original shadow border?
Are the changes you mentioned the only changes you made? Can you compare your new and old skin1.css to see any difference?

I only changed the HTML, BODY colour from white to light grey, the original shadow was a light grey on a white background, now that i have changed the background to grey it has blended in and i am not sure of the text terminology for the border shadow in skin1.css as i have looked through the skin1.css file but can not work out what will be the shadow text. Do you have any ideas as to what the text terminology for the shadow may be?

If you are using Firefox with the Colorzilla add-on, you could find the exact 6 digit color of the shadow and then search for that string in the skin1.css file. Might narrow it down for you. Just a thought.

You can also go to http://www.colorpicker.com/ and find the color closest to what your shadow is and find it that way. You said you changed the background and now it "matches". What did you change it to?

Thanks for the info but i use CS2 for hexcode, changed colour to #E5E5E5.
Is there a standard code for a table edge shadow in skin1.css file, where abouts in the skin1.css file may it be?

There is no "table edge shadow" that I am aware of. Are you using a x-cart skin or an aftermarket one? It is also possible that it is in the class for DialogBorder or DialogBox (this is the center dialog box we are talking about, correct?).

Using x-cart skin, the area i am talking about is the main table that the whole area of the web site site in. Down the outer left and right hand side is where the shadow is.
