Inserting a image in storefront

Trying to insert a image in storefront using a WYSIWYG editor.
but when I click on image icon, it shows webdialog and then asks source.
I am lost because I don't know what it talks about.
so I have read a manual and have done research in fourm.
then there is a post_I should read first_saying "I have to use a smarty to calling a image".
but i don't know what is smarty and don't know how to use.
I had checked smarty website already.
still don't know.
No background on any web building knowledge.
any suggestion.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Inserting a image in storefront

You have to upload your image to the /skin1/images directory then type in

http://www.example.com/skin1/images/example.gif or .jpg or whatever your image is saved as. To upload images to that directory use your FTP program.

Hope this helps.

Re: Inserting a image in storefront

It won't be under Edit Templates. You need to access this via your FTP. It will be in your root folder. Which is the main folder where all of your files are stored.

Many times I got discourage to give up running website because of lack of knowledge.
Anyhow sometimes my friend responded my email regard to website but I had no idea either because his explanation was always not clear to me.
I had send email regard to main folder/ root folder,

Re: Inserting a image in storefront

Do you know how to access your FTP ? If so when you 1st log into your FTP and connect to your server there will be a folder called httpdocs. Everything in there is considered your "root folder.

So when you log into your server using your FTP then you want httpdocs once inside this folder you want your skin1 then images folder. Upload any images ( not including product pics) to this folder. Then use the editor and inset picture and set it to http://www.example.com/skin1/images/example.jpg

Hope this helps.
