Static page font change

Interesting thing happens when I input content into static pages using Verdana font. The static page at the front end changes to Times New Roman. Any ideas why this happens?

Thanks

Re: Static page font change

That's probably because of your style sheet. If Times New Roman is defined as default font or as font for content part of your page.

If you use x-cart WYSIWYG editor, just select whole text and select Verdana font at the dropdown menu. That should help.

Actually I am using the FCKeditor which seems a little more friendly to use. However can anyone direct me where to go to change the default font to Verdana for our static pages.

Any assistance is appreciated.

By default static pages use the default font for your site. This is the first class in your skin1.css by default.. the one that starts "BODY,DIV,TH,TD,P,INPUT,SELECT,TEXTAREA,TT". It will have something that looks like "FONT-FAMILY: NewTimesRoman, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, Sans-serif;" in it (your fonts may differ).

As has been said, it is probably easier just to highlight the text in the WYSIWYG editor in x-cart and choose the Veranda font for all of the text if the only text you want Veranda is the static page.

Thank you for your reply...however even though when I highlight the entire content and change the font to Verdana, the content continues to appear in Times New Roman. Even though my enitire site is in Verdana. It's just the static pages that exhibit this.

Thanks.

Can you provide a link to the page you are referring to? I went and looked at your site but could find no discernible difference in any of what look to be static pages from the rest of your site.

Re: Static page font change

Go to Sport Floor Service Providers Section (lower left menu) Click on Bauer Sport Floors. As you can see this is Times new Roman ouput even though I set it to Verdana.

This static page was constructed with the FCK editor. Now I have disabled the FCK Editor to use the default editor in X-Cart and the static pages will reflect or outputverdana when their constructed. However I do not like the insert image option on this program and again like the feel of the FCK editor over the x-cart default wysiwyg editor.

I am just wondering why the FCK editor reflects verdana on all other pages except the static pages.

Again thank you for your response.

Re: Static page font change

None of the pages in that section appear to be generated by x-cart, and the one you are specifically has no font specified whatsoever. They appear to load a page from outside of your store.

As an example, the pages in "Customer Care" appear to be generated by -cart.

Re: Static page font change

I generated the static pages using the fckeditor my host and developer installed because it seemed to be easier for me to use. Is that what you mean when you say it was developed outside of x-cart?

Thanks.

Re: Static page font change

Yes, partially. You have several pages in that section that if you click on the link, you are sent to a stand alone page that has no navigation. Compare this to the links in "Customer Care". Your "Customer Care" pages can be edited from within x-cart, "Sport Floor Service Providers" can not, and as I said, they do not use the skin1.css and the one in question has no font class specified what so ever.
