Marketing Manager Profit Reports not showing cost
 

I have installed Profit Reports for Marketing Manager Pro two times to be sure -- but I cannot get it to show my costs, so its telling me I'm making a killing! ;)

I've added the cost extra field and edited it for each product, modified the required .php file but no dice.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

You say you edited the php file, are you talking about the config file?

Also, if you do not make reference to the extra field correctly, the info will not generate properly either.

Example: Extra field name is: Cost, not the service name, which mine is: SERVICE_NAME05 which is associated with this extra field.

Most common mistakes with the profit reports are:

1. Not setting up the cost field in x-cart extra fields

2. Not entering the correct field name in the config, it must

a) NOT be the service name, it must be the field name
b) It must be typed exactly as you entered it i.e "Cost" is not the same as "cost"

3. Forgetting to enter the actual trade price into the cost field in product modify

4. Modifying the profit formula and breaking it

Ill put my question here as it saves starting new threads, plus its sorted of linked.

Im installing the above mod and I cant for the life of me find the 'extra fields' link on my admin page. Should it be on the left hand navigation?

I can remember seeing it somewhere but just cant find it? Anyone?

Extra fields need to be turned on first in your x-cart config, please see the manual for your version of x-cart.

After you have turned them on you should see a link down the left hand side for Extra fields, in here you would set up your extra field and set it so it's not visible to customers (dont want them seeing your cost price). Then when you go to your modify product screen you'll either see the extra fields listed on that page or listed on the "extra fields" subsection.

Thankyou for that, I just had to enable the module, All sorted now and its working out my profits properly.

Another question on the subject, I bought Marketing Manager Pro Bundle. At the top there is a marketing tools tab, which says you can purchase modules from your site. The link links directly to your home page, not a list of add-ons i was expecting. What is available as a add on to the Pro bundle.

Hi Homeworld,

The Marketing tab used to hold a froogle export, this was discontinued when Google stopped accepting froogle feeds.

As our other product Feed Manager Pro was developed at the same time and already supported Google Base (froogles replacement) we kept all feeds out of marketing manager.
