Don't apply taxes to products while browsing
 

Hi all,

I am looking for a store setting that will prevent taxes from being applied to a product's price while the customer is logged in and browsing products/categories.

I was sure I saw it before, but can't find anything like it now.

Don't check the 'assume user is from the default country' if the default state is the one that charges taxes. Also uncheck all of the 'display' options in the Tax setup.

Let me clarify,

This isn't a problem when a customer is anonymous. But when someone is logged in all the prices in featured products and category listings display taxes and its this that I don't want.

I verified that the 'assume' box wasnt checked, and neither are any of the display options in the tax setup.

Any ideas?

If all customers are seeing it, you have the tax set up incorrectly. Do you have a specific zone that you are charging tax for? Post screenshots of your tax setup screens.

For anonymous users it just displays the regular price - that's perfect.

It seems to be displaying taxes for the correct zone (from Canada only) when they are logged in but its showing them on every page - featured, categories list, product info, etc. I don't want to show the applied taxes unless the user is in check out process.

Isn't this configurable?

Ok, and how about screenshots of the individual tax screens for each method you have set up?

Bingo! didn't even realize there were further display options in there. Deselecting those have fixed this problem. Thanks for the help!
