Different Skin Themes Per Customer
 

Hello-

I am interested in having my clients be able to choose their style while they shop. I learned from being a vBulletin board owner and admin that many clients are not happy when you change a entire store or forum skin on them. vBulletin as the admin's know here support a style chooser which allow you to change styles.

Is it possible to have two skins in X-Cart? I feel that for store this could be very helpful.

I know that this might become a paid request, if so lets talk.

In my opinion, not worth the effort.
Can you name one top-500 ecom site that allows the customer to determine the look of the store?

Thanks for the reply, I have a art driven site and wanted to give return customers a choice of style. or a a style they can choose by thier favorite artist. It won't be a choice as you enetr the site. I have 60-70% returning clientelle.

Have you considered changing the look of each category or even product template? Maybe check out the multiple product and category template mods from WebsiteCM?

I am a firm believer in its the merchant's job to help the customer find what they need... and I think having different templates for different product categories and/or items is important.

But again, re-skinning on a per-customer basis sounds like a tremendous amount of work without a real merchandising payoff.

Making an artist's page "their own" is one thing, changing your store navigation look and feel is something entirely different.
