Advanced search/filter

Hi Everyone,

I would like to create a filter of products for my new project which I'm going to work on very soon.

It's going to be a shoe shop and I would like being able to filter products by size, style and colour.

I found an xcart based shop with a similar idea implemented:
http://www.yukka.co.uk

Although I need something what remembers selected settings, e.g. size 37(one dropdown) AND pink(another dropdown).
Search results should show pink shoes of 37 size.

Is there any module which would help me do the job? If not, do you know the best idea how to develop similar functionality?

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard, I have an Advanced Product Filter module available, it should be simple enough for me to convert it from links, to a dropdown as you're wanting.

Additionally, my filter module doesn't affect the URL (it sends requests as POSTs instead of GETs), which keeps your URL clean.

Base price: $65, installed: $85

haha, np Padraic. I'm working on getting a proper store up, I've been so slammed lately tho, trying to keep on top of everything :-)

I've actually stopped taking on new projects a few weeks ago, as current projects + new orders have kept me busy as heck!

Hopefully this weekend I'll have a store up with all of my modules, plus demos ;-)

Hi intel352,

I think this is exactly what I need. Unfortunately I could not find additional information about the mod you are talking about. So I hope it is still available? If yes, could you provide me with some additional information?

This is what I am looking for: We have a clothing shop. Now I want to give my customers the opportunity to filter on size and color (for example Large and Red) when they are on a specific category page (for example 'Woman T-shirts'). When this selection is made, the customer only sees Woman T-shirts with size Large in the color Red, which are available (For your information; size and color are product options, Not extra field values).

I hope you can help me.

Best regards,

Sjoerd

Intel32 has been banned from the forums. Have a look at this mod instead:

Heres a mod we used at www.orangeaday.com.sg:
http://www.bcsengineering.com/store/product.php?productid=290&cat=0&page=1

However i am just reporting to them that the filter button, when viewed in IE will be out of alignment. These is not seen in firefox.

A problem i am encountering too is that to edit a group of products, like in normal xcart, it will apply the values to all products, which sometimes is not the case.

I am searching around for solutions.

Just to let u know more so you can decide. =)
