modify related products
 

I am really new in smarty and x-cart

i would like to modify " Recommended products list "

I want to set limite on " Recommended products " like display only 5 items ( ramdom select ) and show them with picture and name. How to do this ?

I know the original one only display name of related products.

What is the exact version of x-cart you are using? Can you please update your signature with that info? Where I point you depends on that info. Thanks!

Umm... "related products and "recommended products" are two different things. Recommended products are selected randomly, and there are several mods that do what you want. Related products are selected using the Upselling links in the Product Modify section.

As Balinor said, it is very important to know which version of x-cart you are using.

The 2nd link is for "Recommended Products" which isn't the same thing as "Related Products". Recommended products are shown randomly on the Product page, Related products are entered manually from the Upselling Links section of the Modify Product section and are only for one product at a time that they are related to, hence the name "related".

For Related Products see http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=10773&page=4 and look around post #36. The mod started way back when 3.5 was the latest version and has progressed (like most mods) to the present version.

The other link does the same thing but is for "Recommended Products".

sorry i just read it .. i tought 4.x is work .. i am currently running on 4.1.9
