Google Analytics Problem
 

Hi,

I'm having some problems trying to activate and run google analytics on my website. I've already gotten my tracking code and enabled it via the admin end but over at google analytics page, my tracking code is not verified. I've also checked home.tpl and find the smarty code within, but when "View Source" at the page, i can't find the code as well. I've activated this about a month ago, so it's not about time as well. Any ideas??

I also am having problems getting GA working in 4.1.9.

I upgraded from 4.0.17 -> 4.1.9 (on 4/18). I previously had GA working using the steps in http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=17972

I've tried to apply the patch from ga_nonlegacy.zip, but my code says 'already patched' when I try to apply.

I have enabled e-commerce tracking on my shopping cart and in GA.

I have one conversion goal setup and the URL is https://www.mydomain.com/xcart/skin1/customer/main/order_message.tpl and Google's profile indicates "receiving data"

I've confirmed the new conversion code is in modules/Google_Analytics/ga_code.tpl

I'm not enabling the e-commerce option in either xcart or in GA, until I get get GA working as it had with my 4.017 site.

I've read through many threads on this subject, but haven't found the one that identifies the steps for 4.1.9 setup. If anyone has figured this out, I also would like to know what you did.

Hi peggyr,

Are you referring to your hole cutting site? If so, there maybe a conflict with having 2 scripts being called and using frames as well.

Have you checked this thread from intel352 as well?

Hi,

Yes.. referring to my hole cutting site. The shopping cart isn't using HTML frames, just php. And GA had been working previous to my upgrade on 4/18, at a 4.0.17 level.

I had looked at the 38092 thread, and the 2 patches, 30599 and 30608 indicate 'patch applied' when I try putting them on. My site was upgraded by xcart tech support on 4/18, so I'm guessing this patch was on the code before the upgrade.

Ah my apologies I jumped right in without thinking.

You still have the two scripts in there though - although I doubt it would cause it to fail.

Are the other pages outside of xcart working fine then as well? For instance, the one included in the main frameset.

I've found some of my problem/confusion, where I'm getting Google Adwords tracking and Google Analytics and the Google Analytics e-commerce setting confused. I plan to try and comprehend all the doc on google and X-cart forum this weekend, and hopefully, I'll understand what I need to setup in which part, my htmls outside of the shopping cart, the tpls. I have my GA code in the 4.1.9 settings.. now to digest and comprehend all the relationships and what I do and do not need to do. If I get it figured out, I'll document what works for me, and update this thread.
