Store manager and dynamic IP
Hi,
I would like to know whether anybody got store manager to work on a dynamic IP? My ISP assigns dynamic IP but my hosting provider (EWD) needs my IP address to open a port in his firewall in order to access the MySQL database. So short of always changing his server setup (which is not an option), I cannot see a way to solve the riddle. Any ideas Thanks Berthold |

Berthold Multiple options available 1. You can add your isp subnet (not exact ip address) For CPanel it is done by adding ip's like 192.168.1.% where you should replace "192.168.1." with ips assigned by your isp's. 2. You can work via PHP MySQL Bridge it doesn't have ip blocking, but little different behaviour - at least give it a try. 3. Work via SSH tunnel This is a bit more complicated, will work if you have shell access to your box (assuming thats unix-based system - linux, bsd etc) btw - I just added your question to MagneticOne FAQ system |
