Is there any program that shows the nested .tpl files for editing.
Hi-
I have noticed that whenever I want to edit a part of my website it requires me digging through multiple tpl files to find the correct one that I want to edit. Are there any programs or does anyone have any tips on locating the right tpl file to edit a particular part of your website? It would be great to have a tool that could show you what tpl file you were in when hovering your mouse over a generated version of your site. This would be similar to many css viewers that are available. Any ideas or hints would be greatly appreciated. BTW - I have read Balinor's post about different main tpl files but I find that I am usually searching for a more obscure tpl file. Thanks! -Reed |

What about using webmaster mode from admin?

Webmaster mode only allows you to edit the language value variables which is very hand but I am usually editing other design aspects of my site.
Thanks for the quick reply. Any other ideas? |

I've never used it to edit language variables but I do use it for quick tpl reference by using the status bar on mouseover. There's also a separate debugging console that pops up too, to edit the tpl's code straight away (better for referencing though).

Thanks kube!
You are awesome... you wouldn't believe how long I have been using x-cart without harnessing this feature. So many hours lost. =) I also had my browser block pop up windows which made it impossible for me to see the debugging console. Thanks again or your help! -Reed |
