favicon troubles
 

I just realized something today. Once upon a time, I had a favicon that would display just wonderfully on al my pages in the URL bar. Now it does not.

I have verified that the icon is residing in the root, and I have followed conventional formating to including it in the head statements, but no love.

My question is : Is it possible that there is an .htaccess issue that may be preventing the icon/URL thingy from working? I am trying to understand it is broken.

Nope, I am noticing that this problem only appears on my iMac using Safari.... not sure what to think, as favicons seem to show up just fine for most sites.... just not mine. Anyone else noticing this on my site using Safari?

when you guys say "root", where is it ? I think it is via FTP, but which folder ?

DavidR - "httpdocs" folder... for your domain-name.com is best (or if there is some reason you do not want it to show for the whole domain and only for your store... then httpdocs/xcart where x-cart is where you keep your store)

Vacman - yeah - seems is a problem on Safari (PC version) for your favcon - I guess this is a a server set-up issue (as it shows ok on firefox)... and my own shows ok on Safari (sorry, no mac here - so I can not test that).
