X-Cart forums - Removing back in stock notification on discontinued products

Hi All,

I have the back in stock notification mod, which is great, but I feel needs these changes to make it better.

The back in stock mod activates when in stock total is 0, the problem is that discontinued products also have a in stock total of 0, thus activating the back in stock mod and giving customers the expectaion that these products are still available. On pages with a high rank this is a regular problem.

Because they bring a lot of traffic to my site I don't want to disable them all together. I want the product details to display but instead of the back in stock button one would see a message telling them that that product had been discontinued and perhaps display a list of available suggestions.

How do others handle this?

What I think would be best is to remove the back in stock notification button all together for these products.

1)To do this I would like to create another option in the availability drop down list on the product_modify.php 'discontinued'. How do I do this please?
