CDSEO and Multi Language
Since I installed CDSEO from WebsiteCM, the multi language feature stopped working. It always defaults back to English.
Does anybody got the CDSEO to work with the Multi Language Feature ? And yes, I do have a pending ticked with Jon. Thank you for your help. |
Re: CDSEO and Multi Language
Hi,
Apparently none of the available URL rewrite mods work for multiple languages (also problem with DESFU mod). Hopefully Jon can come up with a solution for you... Please also remember that the Search Engines apparently only index s site in one language (your default language for the cart) - so if you wish to index the 2nd or subsequent languages you will need to run them as sub-domains or different domains. I don't have an immediate solution for this and is something you will need to solve if you wish to index more than one language. Cheers, Asiaplay |
Re: CDSEO and Multi Language
CDSEO is actually multi-language compatible. We will address your ticket asap during business hours.

Re: CDSEO and Multi Language
Asiaplay, you're referring to the ability to support multi-languages for the actual keywords used in the urls, correct? I just want to point out that espresso was referring to the dropdown selector not working, not the url values. But yes, you're correct, none of the mods have addressed multi-language urls.
Regarding the dropdown selector, XC SEO and CDSEO both work fine with the dropdown selector (CDSEO doesn't include the language tweak in it's default install instructions, but by checking FAQ or speaking with Jon, that can be remedied for your install). I dunno about DSEFU |
Re: CDSEO and Multi Language
Intel,
Yes - this is what I was referring too... Sorry, I thought his problem was the URL rewrites were not working properly (rather than the language drop down box not working). Also I know I raised this as a wishlist item with you Intel - and when discussed with Jon last he was working on it ;) Jon - does CDSEO now support native language URL rewrites? (or is this only when the languages are used on different domain names?) Cheers - Andrew |
Re: CDSEO and Multi Language
I know it's been a while. I think the problem is with Vista. All IE versions work except for IE7 on Vista will default back to english.

Re: CDSEO and Multi Language
The drop-down menu should not be an issue for languages and CDSEO compatibility. Currently CDSEO does not have different urls for different languages.
