Way To Set Style for ALL Image Buttons?

I'm in the process of redoing all my buttons to use the same image and same style, however i'm running into problems on some pages like the Contact Us, etc where the button style is totally off (weird background color, etc)... what can I edit that is literally going to set ONE standard button for everything? I have no idea if this makes sense.

By default, there is one standard button, it is defined in skin1/buttons/button.tpl
