link to embedded page
Hi All,
Looking for al little help trying to link to an embedded html page from my navigation menu. I believe I need to change the page id where the current link is going but can't see to figure out how to di this . Currently when I click on the nav link it goes to home.php?cat=275 I would like it to go to xcart/pages.php?pageid=9 instead. In addition to thiis I would like to remove the embedded page listing from appearing in the help sectiion as I won't need to see it. I know this is something that can be done- just having a bad brain drain Monday in trying to figure out how to do it. As always many thanks to any and all that lend a hand- its always greatly appreciated, Best ScottV 4.18 linunx |
Re: link to embedded page
You mean linking from your category menu? You can't easily change out just one of them to point to a static page if that is what you are asking...

Re: link to embedded page
Hi Balinor,
Thanks for the quick response, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Today is one of those days I just want to climb under my desk and yank out all the phone lines. To answer your reply: Yes that's what I was hoping to do. I thought it might be possible by some how adding a smarty tag to the embedded page to ref. the categories template and page pull the page up by that method. If the categories.tpl could be referenced then perhpas a new .tpl could be inserted to say somethink like if category page id= 275 then page id=9 I don't know smarty tags well enough to that. I can somewwhat read them but not write them . I don't even know if this is possible because I would think you would need to have a smarty tag placed in the embedded page. Would this not work because the embedded page is html, and it wouldn't know what to do with the smarty tag? Sorry if this doesn't make sense and I am not communicationg things well - having a brutal day. If I can't do it this way do you know if it would be possible to accheive this using somwthing like CDSEO Links for XCart and changing the link in the category page that way? Your thoughts and ideas are always very much appreicated, espeically for a newbie like me. Thanks again for the reply. Thanks again Scott V A bad day, yes definitely a bad day |
