Reducing overal display size for x-cart
Hi,
It has come to my attention that my store is displaying so widely on lower resolution screens that a visitor has to scroll left to right. I am using a high resolution monitor (1280x1024) and I remember checking this issue at the time of launch about 16 months ago. I hate horizontal scrolling and I made sure it was not necessary at any resolution. After about 3 upgrades including the disastrous 4.1.9 (thank goodness that's over - I think), the store is displaying very wide. In 800x600 about 1/3 of the page is not displayed unless you scroll. Not so bad in 1024x768, but still need scrolling for the right column where the news and check out are. Is there a way to reduce the entire site by about 15% centered? Is there a main template change that could achieve that in one step? Will it create other problems? Thank you for any help or suggestions you can provide. |
Re: Reducing overal display size for x-cart
Check rectangle_top.tpl, as that is the first table that is called. It is either hard-coded into that template, or being called via a class in skin1.css (container perhaps?)

Re: Reducing overal display size for x-cart
Hi, Balinor,
Thank you for the answer. I don't know much about editing templates and skins, but it is possible to resize the site by resizing the tables, right? Will each element have to be resized individually (including images, image frames, font) or will resizing the first table cause the site as a whole to resize? Thank you again. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help! |
Re: Reducing overal display size for x-cart
That table is the container table for the whole site...resizing it will resize the whole site.
