customizing email templates
 

Can someone please tell me what templates affect which mailings:

what should I edit for custom invoices? gift certificates? password notifications? etc...

Does anyone has custom mods that they have created for such things???

I am currently editing our email templates because I wanted to use the print all function in the admin orders area to print each page separately and the only way to do that is to use html email.

If you go to admin ->edit template->choose mail templates at top of page->and there are all the email templates. Here is the important part to undersand. Some of the info comes from templates and some of it comes from the language labels that are in admin->languages->english->email.

You have to edit both to make them work together the way you want. I suggest start with the languages and that takes care of "what" you want to say and the templates takes care of "how you want to display it".

Ok. I found all that. Here is another question. When you edit the templates, or the labels with html code, how do you keep the code itself from appearing in the email...since we have to keep HTML emails off in the settings or all the rest of the emails that are sent look screwy???
