Template Installation

I wondered whether someone could help me, i bought a template from xcart but i cant work out where to put the files. It says to "unpack it into the x cart directory on my server" now as far as i know the dir is public.html but i cant find this when using my ftp.

Could someone please tell me where my dir is please.

Many Thanks in advance

Re: Template Installation

If you are referencing the url in your signature, the root directory is indeed you public_html folder.

It isn't a file, it is a folder. What is the name of the folder where you installed X-Cart? It may not be public_html, it may be httpdocs. YOu upload it via FTP

Re: Template Installation

You aren't looking for a file, you are simply needing to upload the contents of the distribution package you received from x-cart containing the template files to the root directory of your server.

I did that but they did not show up in the list when u run the re-install templates so i must be doing something wrong, the root directory is the first lists of files on the ftp isnt it? Also the files in the folder are .psd files which i have never heard of.

Sorry if i am sounding stupid but i really have no idea when it comes to this.

Honestly, I think the best (and safest) bet would be to pay for the installation service, as you can really mess up your store if you aren't careful.

Re: Template Installation

Ok i finally worked out what it meant, i have installed it and it is coming up in the install list now but when i install it, it is only partly coming up then has the following error:

Fatal error: Smarty error: [in buttons/button.tpl line 12]: [plugin] modifier 'amp' is not implemented (core.load_plugins.php, line 118) in /home/c/h/charmedgifts/public_html/Smarty-2.6.3/Smarty.class.php on line 1082

What does this mean please?
