Webmaster Mode

I tried the webmaster mode when I installed the demo. I have installed a real store now.

In the demo I tried the webmaster mode and it locked the store into a half in mode half out mode start.

I use a MAC with FF 2.0 for all of my development and this could likely be the problem. Anyone else run in to this issue?

I have since just done it the old fashion way and now go straight to the files with a text editor.

I'm primarily mac too. I find webmaster mode is invaluable for figuring out WHERE things live... but yes, I go direct to my ftp client (linked to my text editor).

As a mac user, are you hip to Coda?

I go back and forth between Transmit / TextWrangler combo, and Coda, depending on my mood. Coda is AWESOME for CSS.

And I like the integration of Transmit with TextWrangler -- we have some good tools available to us mac users!

But back to your question -- I would just use webmaster mode as a roadmap and info source, then edit files the old fasioned way, and edit language entries direct from the admin interface.

Hope this helps.

Jeremy

Thanks for the response. I use Parallels as well. It messes up my worfflow to make changes in IE then bounce back.

I tried Coda but it had a few quirks I didn't like. I use TextMate for all of my coding and CSSEdit for all of my CSS.

I use YummyFTP for an FTP client it works pretty well.

I have spent a little over a week getting my site ready to launch and found all of the .tpl's manually :-(

This is my progress so far http://www.ecarttemplates.com/products/partner store is closed otherwise.

Quick note this is only working if you are using FF 2.0 and a MAC otherwise you will experience problems. I use a script to assign CSS according to the browser viewing the site.
