Displaying Sub Categories in Category Menu
 

Hi,

I am doing some work on a friend's x-cart store, who sells roses. They want to have the sub-categories displayed in the category menu when they are on a category page.

For example:

The category menu displays the root categories, which are:

Species Wild Roses
Old Shrub Roses - Summer-Flowering
Old Shrub Roses - Repeat-Flowering
Modern Shrub Roses
Ground-Cover Roses
Climbing Roses

Within 'Species Wild Roses' there are the following sub categories:

Dog Roses - 9 Products
Sweet Briars - 8 Products
Scots Briars - 8 Products
Wild Yellow Roses - 4 Products
Cinnamon Roses - 11 Products
Extraordinary Species Roses -14 Products
Rugosa Roses - 14 Products
Grootendorsts - 4 Products

If a visitor is on the 'Dog Roses' category page they would like the other sub categories (above) to be displayed below the 'Species Wild Roses' root category on the left side category menu. And of course, this would be the same for all other category pages.

I have done a fair bit of searching on this forum and found some custom mods for sub-categories, but none of them work. They are for older versions.

Does anyone know how the above could be achieved?

Hi

if you just want to show the subcategories then in general settings look for

"If ticked, the categories list always shows root categories:"

and remove the tick(check)

This will then only display the subcategories
