Brand/Model/Year Mod for 4.1.x
 

What is the status of the Brand/Model/Year mod by Cart-Lab (Boomer) and has anyone used it with the current version of XCart (4.1.8)?

I haven't been watching the XCart forums for a while and Boomer doesn't seem to have made a post since early this year, plus the Cart-Lab site isn't available.

Hello,

I've installed this successfully on one of my sites. However, does anyone know how to edit the export/import files so that I can batch upload all the new search fields?

I emailed support@cart-lab.com and got a reply from them saying that it should work fine in X-cart 4.1.9. So I will give it a try and see. :)

importtrenz: Did you try exporting some of the sample items and see if the brand/model/year information is also exported inside the CSV file somewhere?

I had X-Cart edit my store so the new fields showed up during importing/exporting of products.

However, if you choose 3X-4X import, you can import your files directly.

Would you be kind enough to list more details and share the required code modification steps? I can understand if you can't. Either way, thanks in advance!

On the first step of attempting BMY mod installation on a brand new X-cart 4.1.9 test site, I ran into the problem below. Basically, following the "readme.txt" file, it asked to patch the database using the "SQL.SQL" file included.

Did you get this to install and function on 4.1.9?

The instructions were clear, and I followed them exactly. The Brand/Model/Year dropdowns appear exactly where they should, and new fields were added to product add/modify: Brand, Model, Start Date, End Date, type

But when I save a product with data in the new fields, the data appears not to be saved along with the product (it's not displayed when I go to modify the same product), and nothing appears in my search dropdowns for Brand/Model/Year.

Anyone else have this issue?

FYI - cart-lab support responded promptly and got my issue solved right away.

They said I forgot to patch one of the files and when you saved a product in the administration area, it wasn't adding the information to the database.

It works fine now.
