Advanced search for admin only?
 

Hi :)

I would like to take away the advanced search option for users. Most users would not know what SKU or otherwise to use anyway. I of course would like to keep it on the admin side.

How can I achieve this?

Is there a way to utilize the only helpful advanced search option that is category, that really should be in basic search.

HI there,

I'm still finding my way around xcart and was hoping someone could expand a bit on this previous post as this is what I also need to do but could do with a little guidance if possible. The reason that I need to do this is that the drop down box in the advanced search is becoming a rather long list at about 1000 categories and will probably end up substantially bigger. Anyway, thanks in advance.


Or alternatively if there is a section that can be deleted from the templates to remove the advanced search from the customer side. I've deleted sections from the search.tpl and also deleted sections from the main/advanced_search.tpl and seems to make no difference.

If anyone else finds that they want to remove the advanced search on the customer side, just un tick the category box in product serach options in general settings.
