Feed Manager not working after server transfer

I just transferred servers this week, and my firetank feed manager is not working. I downloaded all of the files again to make sure they were not corrupted. I click on the "generate feed" button, and it stops once it gets to "getting manufacturers". Any suggestions why this would happen?

Thanks.

Make sure that compression is disabled on the server. I believe firetank has some code in their help desk you can add to your .htaccess.

I did try that. I followed the instructions and added the code to my admin/ .htaccess file. When I went to the admin section, it gave me a code 500internal server error.

The knowledge base told me to add the following code:

<FilesMatch fts_fc_index.php>
mod_gzip_on Off
php_value output_handler NULL
php_flag zlib.output_compression Off
</FilesMatch>

Re: Feed Manager not working after server transfer

FYI if anyone needs to know this... I contacted firetank support, and they checked everything and thought it might have been an issue with either server execution time limits or memory limits. I emailed tech support at Forged Network, and he copied the error logs (which showed around 20MB of memory), and he told me the operation requires too much memory, and the server blocks its execution.

So.... I'm now looking into another provider once again.

I am looking at ewdhosting.com. Does anyone know their memory limits?

I need a reliable server company. We currently have around 5000-6000 products, and we will be continuing to add more in the coming months. I need a provider that can handle running this software.

Contact Emerson directly at ewdhosting.com and talk to him about it :)

You might want to look into a virtual private server for yourself also, we have many sites with way over 5000 products both on shared and virtual servers and they run without problems. Virtual private means your guaranteed a proper slice, on shared if another site on the server is taking a large chunk of resources your site is denied it.

Also worth while running large feeds late at night via a cron or schedule when the servers are quiet.
